FREE SHAG LESSONS TONITE!

It’s time to gather for those FREE Shag lessons. Jeppy and Nikki will be ready for you on the dance floor at 7pm, just after The Board Meeting (aka Happy Hour), which starts at 4pm. DJ Ray Scott will be in the booth tonite starting around 8pm for Jeppy’s break and then after shag lessons until you can’t dance anymore. Besides being one of our longest running House DJ’s, you can also catch Ray on www.yourbeachmusic.com and Ray I almost put oldest DJ’s. Duh! He and Joey Warren burn up the internet waves everyday with special guests. Check them out! Our littlest Bartender Terry, will not be with us this evening. Her brother is in the hospital and she and her family are hanging close by to him. We hope the worst is behind him but Jack certainly could use some more prayers. Thank you. STEVE OWENS AND SUMMERTIME!

It’s Sunday and the last day of SOS Mid-Winter and WE ARE NOT through yet! The grill opens at 11am with Shannon Rogers and Pamalama cookin up some vittles. (OR you can head down to HOTOs) our sister club and grab you some KING TYRONE at noon. Then at 4pm be back here for the best new band in beach music, STEVE OWENS AND SUMMERTIME! They will play from 4pm until 8pm! Then we will be dancing, dancing, and dancing some more. I hope those of you who have tomorrow off will stay and play with us! Some of US, who haven’t played weekend might get to play with you a little bit! Harold, Joy, Shannon and Gary did a great job planning this weekend and you can give them an applaude but they couldn’t have done it alone, not without the wonderful staff working their fannies off, to make sure you were served as fast as possible. Good Morning OD! What a day we have planned for you. Big Ron opens the grill and 11am and will be joined by Lulu! The rest of the Fun Team will start trickling in around noon. Judy Duke has her workshop at 10am. Shannon and Deanna don’t have to work a double today! DJ Gary Bass is in the front room noon until 5pm! SEA CRUZ graces the stage at 1pm. Come hear ya some Dino, Allie and Butch! Awesome group! Ray Scott is in the back from 2pm until 8pm and will be followed by the Little Man of Beach Music, Joey Warren, who will close the back down! DJ “Jammin Jimmy” Buffkin will dance you little feet out from 5 until 9pm in the front room, followed by DJ “Hey Boy” Harris, who will shut her down. We have FREE FOOD at 6pm! Jack and his gang of helpers will serve up some good food for your enjoyment. Get here early, cause when it’s gone, it’s gone! The Fat Man will come in to work this evening around 7pm. If you haven’t gotten a copy of his book by now, get you one and have him sign it tonite! Got to head toward the beach. Come and beat us up again today. We enjoyed it yesterday. Good Morning SOS Shag friends! Hope you got here safe and sound. For those of you who got here in the last couple of days, have you had a good time yet? Do you have holes in that first pair of shoes? Well get out the second pair cause today is going to be a throw down. Starting at 10am, Judy Duke, will be having her workshop. Come in and brush up on those dance steps. The Shag City Grill will open at 11am with Big Ron and Lulu serving you up some great bologna sandwiches and cold beer and libations to get you going. The main bar opens at noon, Heath, Terry, Debbie, Deanna, Shannon, Brenda, Pam, Shannon Rogers, the barbacks, the door people, Joy and Lulu (in the office, when not on the bar), The Big Man himself, will all being working for YOU today. We are ready for you. The question is, “Are you ready for us”? DJ Gary Bass (front room) and DJ David Harris (back room) come on at noon and play until 5pm. THURSDAY NITE, CWB!!!!

Mid-Winter is here, literally, at the beach and in the western part of our states. Get in those cars and get down here NOW. NO SNOW, there’s a party at the beach and a little bit of snow is not going to stop me. Say this over and over and over again! OKAY now that’s done! The club opens at 11am. Lunch will be served. By 6pm all bars will be manned and the PARTY is ON. Your DJ’s for the day are as follows, Jimmy Buffkin, Milton White, Ray Scott and David Harris! MIDWINTER JUMP START PARTY TONITE!

The club opens at 4pm today and we are READY for YOUR arrival! Our Jump Start Party begins when the doors open. WELCOME to SOS Mid-Winter Break 2013. The bars are stocked, the bologna is cut and our GREAT STAFF can’t wait to see YOUR smiling faces! DJ Ray Scott from the infamous yourbeachmusic.com and who has been a house DJ for years will be in the booth tonite providing you with all of your famous “Shag” songs and his wit and entertainment! Jack is back! He and Heath Brown will be fixing up those famous Jump Start FREE Hotdogs in the back room around 7:30pm and then it’s on to the dance floor. Let’s see how many people we can get on it tonite. This may be your last night to actually see a spot on the dance floor, or NOT, you never know. NO BAND tonite for YOUR dancing pleasure. Our house DJ’s Gary Bass (the leader of the pack), Milton White, David Harris, “Jammin” Jimmy Buffkin, Ray Scott, Joey Warren, and Guest DJ Betty Brown will be entertaining you throughout the weekend. We have a great band line up too! CWB, Thursday nite 9-1; Jim Quick and Coastline, Friday day 1-5; Sea Cruz, Saturday day 1-5; and Steve Owens and Summertime, Sunday 4-8pm! Jim Quick and Coastline will be on the deck at HOTO’s (our sister club) on Sunday from noon until 4pm. If inclement weather they will move inside! If you get tired of bologna and cheeseburgers, don’t forget those wonderful peel and eat steamed shrimp at HOTO’s! Umm….I could eat some of those for breakfast! Also Lunch with Lulu and Big Ron on Friday and Saturday, 11am til 6pm! This will not happen as often as it has in the past, so come see us! Joy and Lulu will be slaving in the office and The Fat Man himself is coming in to work a few shifts. Danny and his crew at the door are ready to welcome you to The Fat Man’s House. This is how we do it “DOWN SOUTH”! Yep, the man himself, JIM QUICK and his kick butt band, COASTLINE, take the stage at 1pm. Need I say more? Well maybe “SWEAT, GET YOUR BODY SOAK AND WET”! All bars will be open for your cold libations (yes, we do know the meaning of this word). FUN MONDAY!

See these doors, well they are going to be wide open at 11am in the morning. Ronnie and Lulu’s famous Bloody Mary’s. You won’t get these special Bloody’s anywhere, I promise. Nobody knows our secret! Come in a get yourselves ready for a great selection of muscic tomorrow out in the street. We will have a draft cart outside for your convenience but if you need a liquor drink come inside and see us. If you get hungry, come inside and see us! If you have any complaints go down the street. lol We have DJ’s going all day long and night in the front room and the back room for your dancing pleasure. We’d love to have you at Fat Harold’s. Don’t forget to TIP (To Insure Prompt Service) your Bartenders and Cooks cause they are literally working there butts off for you. What they make will go to go to one of the local doctors next week anyway. They don’t have much, if any, insurance and it sure would help to know there’s a little bit of help in the jars. We have had a great week so far. Very nice crowd of people. If we are busy and you want your drink or burger yesterday, please have a little consideration for the person doing the work. Be patient, it is a virtue, your time will come and it will be well worth your wait. If your sense of entitlement gets the best of you, it will get the best of us and you may have to wait just a longer than the nice person beside you. Think about it. It might be Fun Sunday but we have a great band for you too! Carolina Soul Band takes the stage at 1pm and will play until 5pm! Come have some fun with these guys. They are fabulous. It’s OFFICIAL, It’s SOS!

It’s OFFICIAL, it’s SOS FALL MIGRATION 2012! Let’s make this one the best yet. So many things on the schedules, so much to do, you ask? Well, Fat Harold and his Fun Team have created a one stop shopping type of atmosphere. In other words, you can get it all right here, why go somewhere else? Some of the schedules that have been posted have been incorrect here as well as others. I personally apologize for the mix up of The Hall of Fame Exhibition post yesterday. I just do what I am told! (Most of the time, lol.) Yesterday’s post was wrong, NO Exhibition this time, they will dance at Spring Safari 2013! Also a lot of the schedules and The Carefree Times has Tiny and Ronnie’s Shooter Party to raise money for Camp Kemo at 12 Noon today, NOT, it is at 5:00pm TODAY in the back room. DJ Jerry Munson will be in the back room at 12 noon, DJ Milton White will be in the front room at 12 noon! The grill opens at 11am, Lunch with Lulu Special today: Bologna sandwiches, North Carolina style, slathered with mustard, topped with onions, a spoonful of chili and coleslaw. Makes your mouth water doesn’t it? Our DJ’s taking the booths at 5pm are, DJ Jay Nelms (front room) and DJ’s Johnny B. and Lamar in the back room for TINY AND BIG RON’S SHOOTER PARTY! Our DJ’s playing your favorites at 9pm are, DJ “Jammin” Jimmy Buffkin in the front room and DJ David “Hey Boy” Harris in the back room! We are fully staffed for you drinking and eating pleasure. Bands start Saturday (tomorrow) with SEA CRUZ opening up our great band line up. Our bands will only play during the daytime so you can dance your legs off on every inch of this building at night! We KNOW you like it that way. So why not bring your sleeping bags and change of “black drawers” and hang with us for the next 12 days. You won’t be sorry cause we’re gonna have some “HOT FUN” at the end of the summertime! Please be safe in your travels, turn up that radio on the way to the beach to get that heart a-pumping and when you get here THE FAT MAN and crew promise to have you jumping. Quote from the Fat Man’s lips on yesterday, “GOD LOVE’S YOU, AND WE DO TO”! The Fat Man will be making more appearances this SOS cause he is feeling sooooo much better. Come in and see him, he said to tell you he has some more books and if you want it signed personally by him, he will be here! Time to go make bologna. LOVE YOU, MEAN IT!
