My Husband & I were at Fat Harold’s for the FREE shag lessons on 3/22! We arrived at 6:45 & we got seated at one of the hi top round tables beside the dancefloor.
Really enjoyed the couple’s intro and lesson and we’re looking forward to coming back next week. It’s refreshing to see interest in “Partner Dancing” again! We grew up in Phildelphia area in the 60’s, when DJs were the “KING” of the dancefloor! We would go to a Roller Skating rink which would transposed into a “dance floor” for a Friday or Saturday night. Sunday afternoons were spent at Wagner’s Ballroom. Teenagers would change the Ballroom into a “sock Hop” & “Line Dancing” on Sundays. The DJ was Jerry Blavat, better nicknamed “the Geator with the Heater”!
Now that we are permanent residents in Myrtle Beach, (Carolina Forest area), we look forward to learning how to “SHAG”! Thank you for a very enjoyable evening!
