Today we celebrate the life of a most unique man! Fat Harold Bessent! One whose purpose in life was to please others. Yes, Our Fat Man had that disease to please! And that wasn’t a bad thing. He loved it and he loved you. We will miss him from the bottom of our feet to the top of our heads and every little space in between. It has been a great pleasure to be able to call him Bossman, Friend and Father for all of us at Fat Harold’s Beach Club. Our family chain is missing a link but the most wonderful thing is we will all hook up together again and the chain will be complete. We will open the doors today at 1pm and all bars and the grill will be open. His Celebration of life will start at 4pm and last several hours. We have reserved tables for the family and request that you honor them. There will be registers at the front door, the back door as well as the side door so you may sign his guest book. You will be given a keepsake from Harold when you sign the register. This is going to be a tough day but should be a HAPPY DAY because that is what he requested. We are having a program and then it’s EAT, DRINK AND BE MERRY cause that’s what he wants and that’s what he’s going to get. He’s still giving those orders from HEAVEN and personally, I wouldn’t have it any other way. LOVE YOU, MEAN IT!
Today is a special day for me too. I will enjoy celebrating my and Tony’s friendship with this special man. Our trips, visits, talks, the way you embraced our girls, jokes and sometimes serious discussions will be forever in my heart. These good memories help sustain my grief. Thank you, Harold, for your friendship and love.

Oh dear, did Mr. Harold just recently pass away or is this his birthday? My family and I are in from out of town and were thinking about coming there this week for Shag lessons. I didn’t realize that this was an especially difficult time…
